OPEN HOUSE

We’ve got some paw-some news! Oaks Veterinary Hospital is now better than ever with a new doctor, new team, and new level of care! We want to celebrate this next chapter with you! Please join us for an Open House on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at our Hospital, 229 NW 75th St. Gainesville, Florida, 32607. 

Meet Dr. Meghan Abbott, DVM, and the rest of our team, in person. Dr. Abbott would love to meet you and your furry family members! Our team is thrilled to have the opportunity to meet you and your family.

Come in and take an interactive tour of our recently updated hospital.  

• Kids, bring your stuffies and visit the vaccine room, where you can learn about the importance of pet vaccines and experience what it’s like to give a pet a life-saving vaccine with our friends from Boehringer Ingelheim. 

• Join our friends from Virbac and look at real slides under a real microscope! Take a look at how our team uses samples viewed under a microscope to diagnose pets. 

• Stop by radiology and take a look at some real X-rays with our friends from IDEXX! Can you guess how many puppies are in the x-ray? Someone ate something they shouldn’t have, can you guess what it was? 

• Check out our blood-draw station *ages 16 and up only* experience what its like for our team to draw blood. Is it easier or harder than you thought it would be? 

• Swing by our Surgical Suite *ages 16 and up only* to learn about the skills it takes to suture for surgery and try for yourself!  

• Drop into our Dental Suite and check out some dental X-rays. Test out the dental scaler to experience what it’s like to clean pet teeth! 

• There’s nothing as sweet as hearing a puppy’s heartbeat, use a real stethoscope to listen to a puppy’s heartbeat and count the beats!  

• Lastly, check in with our friends from Boehringer Ingelheim again and learn about Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention. Do you think you can get all the quiz questions correct? Can you identify all the bugs correctly? 

Are you considering adoption? Visit WAG Rescue who will be attending with Puppies! 

• If you adopt a pet from our Open House event, your pet will receive free core vaccines – FOR LIFE from Oaks Veterinary Hospital!  

Do you already have a dog at home? Need some tips & tricks?  

• Stop by and chat with our Dog Trainer to learn more about how to train your dog to be his or her most woof-tastic self! 

The holidays are around the corner – Don’t forget to check in with Santa and take that perfect holiday Picture!  

• Make pawprint ornaments and Lick Paintings to take home! 

Nail Trims are always a claw-some experience with our team! 

• If your pet is in need of a quick paw-dicure, make sure you get them a free nail trim during our Open House!

• Refreshments 
• & A Food Truck!
